NSS – The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. Aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges.
Our college has an NSS unit comprising 150 students. Prof. Nitesh Chaudhari is currently the programme officer of the NSS.
NCC – The National Cadet Corps is Youth Wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. Our college will soon have an NCC unit for both boys and girls.
Cultural: We organize various cultural activities throughout the year. Students learn valuable life lessons by participating in these activities.
Saptdhara :
Saptadhara’ provides a cultural platform to students of higher education, where they feel the bliss of creativity. Under this programme, the college focuses on various areas of education, art and knowledge for the manifold progress of the youth. These areas of focus are known as Band/Cluster/Spectrum/Continuum/Symphony of Activities (Dharas):

Under Saptdhara initiative different activities are conducted such as essay competition, writing competition, Elocution competition, Creative activities and workshops etc. These are implemented for the overall development of students.
Udisha Club : UDISHA is a placement initiative introduced by the Office of Commissioner, Higher Education, Gujarat and various activities are designed to be organized throughout the academic year, keeping students informed and updated regarding their career options. The activities of UDISHA CLUB are as under
- Providing information about career options and job avenues
- Career counseling and placement
- Training for developing Soft Skills- Communication, Etiquette, grooming and work culture
- Motivational activities & leadership skills
- Organizing mock-interviews to equip students with interview skills at college level
- Arranging local campus placements
Film Club:
‘Film Club’ is formed at Government Arts & Commerce College, Meghraj to screen movies every fortnight. The activities carried out by the Film Club encourage students to develop a rich understanding about society, culture, politics, economy and literature. The club has diverse screenings across all major genres such as documentary, comedy, silent film, melodrama, biopic, thriller, sci-fi, adventure and fantasy produced by mainstream Bollywood, regional Indian cinema and Hollywood. Each screening begins with an introduction to the film, director, genre and social context. The club holds discussions after each screening to help students express themselves in a coherent manner. Film clubs provide students with a rare opportunity to be part of something fun, creative and sociable.
